book of rob

In another world there was a man named Rob. He first carried life as a waterboy. Then he carried fire as the burgerhands. After, he would harness earth and become a mountain. And when the fallen angel Shemyhaza returned to signal the end of his world, his hurt poured endlessly like the wailing of the wind.

The giant Rob had lost his friend Boone in a war with an angel, and by spilling blood in vengeance he was amongst those left standing. When God blessed the victors with a wish, Rob went back in time to save his friend.

Sadly, time repeated, and another wish was made, ending the second world. Rob could not keep the life of his friend from slipping through his massive fingers a second time.

So he held him with his heart.

As the second world ended, the giant grew bigger. Big enough to outgrow the ending. He was the last survivor of his world. And, in his heart he carried the friend who had twice been scheduled a date with death.

He hovered for eons on the shores of reality, waiting for when he could birth his friend to his third life, within this, the third world.

When the time was finally right, the giant came from beyond to our town, so as to release his friend from within his heart.

Before it could be done, he was accosted by the reflections of his own struggle. The different paths he could have taken stood in front of him, a council of contrasts with two unifying features: they were giant Robs, and they wished to stop him.

For, rebirthing the friend within his heart meant Rob would be forced to sacrifice his size. The reflections considered this a heretical act, one that defied all of them and could threaten existence.

The Galactic Rob fought them with his might, then threw his might away. His friend, Sweet Boone, was born again.

In the rebirth comes sacrifice. And he who outgrew death would find himself again small enough to fit in her hands.

And he who was a giant amongst the cosmos learns once more what it means to be human.

A part of the struggle.

Glory to the struggle.
